Part of a night scene in the Qing Ming Shang He Tu painting.
Be part of a highly educational and interactive world-class event
We are pleased to bring to Singapore “Qing Ming Shang He Tu -A Moving Masterpiece” The Song Dynasty as Living Art from 7 Dec 2011 - 6 Feb 2012. We invite you to partake in this educational, interactive event that promises to be an exciting and inspiring learning journey for your students. Created by Crystal Digital Technology Shanghai, A Moving Masterpiece marries exquisite ancient art with cutting edge multimedia technology to spectacular effect. This epic masterpiece, 30 times bigger than the original painting, is longer than a football field and about 2 stories high. Through animation, watch the Song dynasty come alive, drawing visitors to experience China’s golden age of economic, artistic & scientific achievements that have influenced civilizations the world over. |
Through a portrayal of arguably the world’s most advanced society over 9 centuries ago, this painting is a lesson in history, culture, technology and values that remain relevant to Singapore today. This truly is a once in a lifetime opportunity for our younger generation to better understand their heritage. By creating a pre-hall experience encompassing 5 core values central to Singapore today, we hope to showcase the importance of Integrity and Trust (Gold, 金), Hard work and Perseverance (Wood, 木),Tolerance and Humility (Water, 水), Passion and Heritage (Fire, 火), Innovation and Pragmatism (Earth, 土). The pre-hall will also explain why certain concepts such as meritocracy and cultural harmony are vital to a society. We believe this will help build the character of our students, and is in line with MOE’s latest planned “Character and Citizenship Education Curriculum”. |
The Singapore exhibition has been especially designed to achieve MOE’s educational objectives. Themed environments, engaging storylines and interactive exhibits have been created to provide a conducive learning environment for students. We are pleased to add that we have the support of the Ministry of Education and its Mother Tongue Languages Branch of Curriculum Planning & Development Division for this event.
